Please do not confuse real psychics and mediums with gypsy fortune tellers. There are authentic gifted practitioners that have made it their life purpose to genuinely help people with their naturally gifted abilities to see into the past, present and future, as well as touch with the unseen world of spirits. For many of us it is respected with in our religions. There are many methods to divinity, most of which have taken their roots from ancient religions. Mystics have many forms of retrieving information about a person's life. The scope of the art of divination varies in vast cultures. The difference is that divination is the term used by many as part of a certain ancient religious ritual, invoking spirits, angels and guides. The term fortune telling grows out of folklore. It implies a less respected and formal setting such as gypsy tarot card readers at a carnival or state fair setting. There are also many people that grow up in fear of seers or have been brain washed by others not to believe in what the naked eyes cannot see. There is a variety of tools that some readers use such as tarot cards, palms, dice, crystal balls, science of astrology and numerology. But for many tradition mediums they just prefer to go in with out any tools of the trade and enter into a trances state of consciousnesses.
